So far, the community is pretty cool too. Though there is a percent that want to be pirates or bounty hunters, I've got no problem with them. Since they're pretty easy to avoid, and they add realism and contrast to the game. The point of SC (when it's fully released.) is to be whatever you want. Pirate, smuggler, trader, scientist, explorer, whatever. And there's no point of having a good-evil game with everybody picking good is there? And I'm gonna be a smuggler, so while I'll be regretting this statement later, the looting assholes will bring some excitement to this game. Plus, as the kind of person who just likes to grab some popcorn and watch the show whenever there's drama, I LOVE the drama in SC. When somebody gets their ship destroyed at Kareah or a cry-astro station by an outlaw, and they get stranded, they get fucking pissed, and it's hilarious to watch in chat.
Other than that, the community's great and friendly, and if you ask in chat if you can join somebody's crew on a multi-crew ship, most of the time, somebody will accept. And even if you just board their ship and take a seat in the turret without saying anything, they'll still be cool about it. lol
