Hello everyone little introduction,
My name is Loki, also known as LokiFM on Twitch. During these past summer holidays I was one of the, may I say, bigger streamers of Trove gaining about 4k followers in 2 weeks without giveaways. I personally despise giveaways and hosted them once in a blue moon.
So I did this... experiment of sorts. Creating a new Twitch account "Dank_Giveaways" and all I did is have a very big giveaway window and a very small game window. Kind of a parody of some channels out there... with silly commentary.
The full replay is right here;
(start talking after about 10 seconds)
Mainly because I think a Giveaway follower is not a real follower at all therefore I couldn't care less for having one of those people in my chat. I also highly believe that the giveaway mentality that lives in the Trove community is quite disgusting. Especially if you consider that several small people who are not qualified at all now how access to balefire codes, and proclaim-a-phones.
In my opinion Balefire wings should not be something put into the hands of the streamers. But instead Trion should be engaging with the community by proc-a-phoning deserving streamers themselves or allow people to proc-a-phone by event planned request (24h, charity stream, some crazy other idea).
I proclaim a phoned some really deserving channels before this, getting them 15-20 viewers from a proc-a-phone... but my single proc-a-phone mentioning "Don't have Balefire wings or want an extra pair? Come !balefire on twitch.tv/Dank_Giveaways"
Somehow this made 200+ people follow and people go crazy in the chat... While other people stream for days on end and they get no attention.
200+ followers, 30ish minutes, 1 proclaim a phone, about 25-30 codes given out.
Take from this whatever you want to, but I had some fun I suppose.
I do also run my own Twitch channel, http://twitch.tv/LokiFM, where I now stream all kinds of things. Where growth is about <10 a day while streaming every day. This is not a bad thing, since I get the loveliest followers out there... But for some reason this growth still seems slightly dumb.
Oh well, have a good one people.
PS. I hope Trion does something with this and betters their Twitch Streamer regulations for the future. To encourage streamers but not to make them into weekly giveaway machines, creating people who only bother watching your game when they can get something from you... instead of enjoying the streamers supporting your game.
PPS. Trion, I still haven't received my 100 Dragon Souls I won on the official stream on August the 7th, when do I get them.
